Air Quality Modeling
The Sacramento Regional Clean Air Plan Update will include the
use of an air quality computer model to simulate air pollutant emissions,
meteorology, and the photochemical reactions involved in ambient
ozone formation. This air quality model will be used to evaluate
ozone buildup in the region and interbasin pollutant transport,
and to plan an emissions control strategy that will be needed to
attain the federal ambient ozone standard. The work from the ongoing
Central California Ozone Study (CCOS) will be the foundation for
the air quality modeling for this Clean Air Plan Update.
