| SUBJECT: Federal 8-Hour Ozone State Implementation Plan (SIP) Emission Control Measures FEATHER RIVER AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT SACRAMENTO METROPOLITAN and YOLO-SOLANO AIR QUALITY PLACER AIR POLLUTION CONTROL DISTRICT ELDORADO AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT The five air districts of the Broader Sacramento Area will hold four public workshops at Yuba City, West Sacramento, Auburn and Placerville to present and receive public comments on the proposed emission control measures for the Federal 8-Hour Ozone State Implementation Plan (SIP), for the Sacramento Federal Ozone Nonattainment Area. The Sacramento Federal Ozone Nonattainment Area includes the entire Sacramento and Yolo Counties, portions of Placer and El Dorado Counties, eastern Solano County and southern Sutter County. The Clean Air Act requires the state and local air agencies to update the SIP by June 15, 2007. The newly proposed control measures will further lower the ozone precursors and ozone concentration in the Broader Sacramento Area, and help the region meet the National Ambient Air Quality Standard. The draft control measure document (PDF 460 Kb) and its Appendix (PDF 1.7 Mb) may be downloaded. Hard copies of the draft document will also be available at the five air district offices. Written comments will be accepted until 5:00 p.m., November 8, 2006 to Steven Lau (916-874-4800) at: SMAQMD Comments may also be submitted by email to sacsip@airquality.org.
