The five air districts of the Broader Sacramento Area will hold four public workshops at Yuba City, West Sacramento, Auburn and Placerville to present and receive public comments on the proposed emission control measures for the Federal 8-Hour Ozone State Implementation Plan (SIP), for the Sacramento Federal Ozone Nonattainment Area. The Sacramento Federal Ozone Nonattainment Area includes the entire Sacramento and Yolo Counties, portions of Placer and El Dorado Counties, eastern Solano County and southern Sutter County. The Clean Air Act requires the state and local air agencies to update the SIP by June 15, 2007.

The newly proposed control measures will further lower the ozone precursors and ozone concentration in the Broader Sacramento Area, and help the region meet the National Ambient Air Quality Standard.
 
In addition, an early consultation meeting (scoping meeting) of the environmental effects of the 8-hour SIP will be held at the West Sacramento workshop. You are invited to attend and provide input as we begin preparing the required environmental impact report for all air districts.
