The Carl Moyer Grant Program was established in 1998 to fund the incremental cost of cleaner-than-required heavy-duty engines. Currently, there is $10 Million available for funding Carl Moyer Program projects operating in the Sacramento Federal Ozone Nonattainment Area (SFNA), specifically in Sacramento County, Placer County, Yolo County and some parts of Solano County and southern Sutter County. The existing equipment must be self-propelled and the existing engine must be greater than or equal to 25 horsepower. The new or replacement engine must have a similar horsepower rating as the existing engine, with a maximum increase of 25 percent as determined by staff.
Agricultural Irrigation Pump Motors. The Agricultural Pump Electrification Program provides grant funds for diesel engine conversion to electric motor in agricultural pumps used to irrigate crops. Covered costs include the incremental cost of the electric motor, standard control panel, utility service pole closest to well replacement, service line drop, labor and material costs incurred from service pole to electric motor, and well modifications to accept electric motor.
