Join Our Community CarShare

  1. Complete the Registration Form. Membership is FREE.
  2. Complete your Free Our Community CarShare Zipcar Membership
  3. After your recieve your zipcard, activate it at Our Community Carshare Zipcar Membership Site.

Using the Cars

  1. Reserve at zipcar.com (or via the Zipcar app): Enter your home address, preferred trip date, and reservation time to find the closest available vehicle to you. Reservations are limited to THREE HOURS per day and NINE HOURS per week.
  2. Unlock with your Zipcard: Use your zipcard to unlock and lock the vehicle during trips. Scan it over the reader on the windshield. Once it beeps, you have successfully unlocked/locked the vehicle.
  3. Drive: Our Community CarShare makes it easy for residents to go to the store, drop kids off at school, or get to/from a meeting. Just be sure to return the car on time or check availability to extend your reservation if you need more time (up to 3 hours).
  4. Park & Plug: Vehicles MUST be returned to the designated parking space AND PLUGGED INTO THE CHARGER by your reserved end time. The vehicle should be at least ¼ charged if there is a reservation immediately after yours. If you need to recharge during your reservation, check out charging stations near you at plugshare.com.
  5. Trip Experience: Our Community Carshare would like to understand how to serve your community better. Please fill out the Trip Survey.

​Roadside Assistance

Your Zipcar membership includes roadside assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If you need assistance while on the road you can call us and we will take care of the details.

The program is funded by California Climate Investments, a statewide program that puts billions of cap and trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the economy and improving public health and the environment – particularly in disadvantaged communities. Our Community CarShare has the goal of increasing access to zero emission vehicles and enhancing clean mobility options.
