Am I allowed to burn my yard waste?
<p>In Sacramento County open burning of yard waste is prohibited in the majority of the county. Some residents in the southern portion (South of Calvine Road) may be allowed to open burn provided they do not live in a populated area and you receive a burn permit from your local fire department. Please contact SacMetro AQMD to determine if you can open burn.</p>

<p>When you file a complaint with SacMetro AQMD you will be asked if you would like an inspector to call you back. If you request a call back, an inspector will contact you when their investigation is complete. If you did not request a call back and you would like to talk to the inspector please call 279-207-1122 or 800-880-9025.</p>

<p>It is legal to burn wood in your fireplace during the months of March through October. During the months of November through February burning is prohibited mandatory curtailment days. In order to comply with the law you should Check Before You Burn. </p>
