 ABOUT THE DISTRICT

The Sac Metro Air District, a regional leader in protecting public health and the environment, integrates equity and environmental justice into all air quality and climate change decisions. We promote resilience and sustainability throughout the region and are committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce.

We are a dedicated group of professionals who care deeply about the health and environment of our region and our world. With nearly 100 employees from diverse backgrounds, languages, and races, we employ air quality engineers, specialists, planners, managers, administrators, and more. 

Our team members are leaders in their fields and share a passion for working with the community we serve, local businesses, and like-minded partners to mitigate the impacts of climate change, reduce air pollution, and make our air safe to breathe.​​

 PAY AND BENEFITS

The District values its employees and regularly benchmarks against other agencies to ensure a competitive compensation package. We offer attrractive pay and provide a comprehensive benefits package, including robust health and dental benefits, a generous cafeteria plan allowance, participation in the CalPERS retirement system, and much more. The schedules below show the monthly minimum and maximum full-time pay for each of our current job classifications.​
