Community Emissions Reduction Program

On July 25, 2024, the South Sacramento Florin Community was selected by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to develop a Community Emissions Reduction Program (CERP). The South Sacramento-Florin Community Steering Committee (CSC) and the Sac Metro Air District (District) worked together to develop strategies to address local air pollution concerns. The CERP describes the collaborative process and outlines strategies, timeline, metrics, priorities, and targets for reducing emissions and exposure. The Draft CERP was approved by the CSC in March 2026 to move to the Air District Board for approval.  The Air District Board approved the Final CERP on May 28, 2026. The District will submit the CERP to CARB for approval. The CERP is summarized in the StoryMap (updated 4/29/2026) here: https://bit.ly/4qun9uw
