Outdoor Burning

Smoke from outdoor burning contributes to our region's air pollution and can harm resident's health.  When certain materials are burned, they release particulates and by-products that are dangerous to breathe. To safeguard public health and air quality, Sacramento County has regulations limiting outdoor burning.  While some exemptions exist, burns that create a public nuisance are not exempt under Sac Metro Air District Rule 402.
