The Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District (Sac Metro Air District) will host a public meeting on September 22, 2020, for the Air Quality Steering Committee representing the South Sacramento/Florin Community. The Steering Committee will help the Sac Metro Air District implement the Community Air Monitoring Plan to monitor and improve air quality in the South Sacramento/Florin community. The Steering Committee Meeting is anticipated to cover the following topics:

  • Charter Amendments Discussion and Initial Guidance
  • Pre-Community Emissions Reduction Plan (Pre-CERP) Discussion and Decision 
The Sac Metro Air District recognizes the challenges that we all are experiencing with COVID-19. Consistent with Governor Newsom's Executive Order N-29-20 (March 18, 2020), this meeting will only be conducted via web conferencing (Zoom Meeting) or telephone. Community Air Protection Year 3 Virtual Community Meeting

The Sac Metro Air District will be discussing its Year 3 community recommendation to the California Air Resources Board for future Community Air Protection (CAP) communities. The CAP program focuses on underserved communities most impacted by air pollution. Please join us to learn more about the CAP program and help us better understand your community.

Previous Meetings and Workshops
  • Community input and engagement is vital to the success of the program. The District attended numerous public meetings to discuss the community identification for the community monitoring and/or community emission reduction program to shape its final community identification recommendations. District staff continues to engage the public on investment priorities.
